Group Partnerships

Children getting off a busIn 2001, a lottery grant enabled us to purchase the Warrior, a multi-coloured minibus to be used mainly by Youth Groups. Two years later, the Yate Detached Youth Work service became the second member of our Youth Partnership scheme when we took over the operation of their Ford Transit minibus and updated it with a lift.

The scheme became funded through the Lottery Community Fund and provided specific youth organisations with priority use of a vehicle during evenings, weekends & school holidays. We made additional use of this vehicle during term time with a paid driver to provide additional Ring & Ride capacity.

The experience gained proved the benefit of supporting and working in partnership with fellow community minded groups and GCT has undertaken to expand access to its partnership schemes beyond solely youth groups to all eligible Groups:

Evening and Weekend Group Scheme:

1. Registration fee - £20.00 per year.   Mileage rate: £1.60 per mile

2.  This membership entitles the group to use the vehicles from 17:30 onwards and any time on a Saturday or Sunday.

3.  Groups must have their own driver who has undertaken a MiDAS assessment. (A copy of their certificate and licence will be taken by GCT’s office before the booking).

4.  Familiarity driving courses can be arranged for a driver to observe the different vehicles and specifications. Drivers will also be shown where to collect the keys etc., and will be given keys to GCT’s premises.  Cost is £25 for one hour (we do not anticipate more than an hour would be necessary.)

GCT Partnership Scheme:

Costs:

1. A payment of £275 for the year (Jan-Dec) which then enables groups to have a mileage rate of £1.60

 2. Group Membership Terms and Conditions still apply.

 3. This scheme has been set up for Groups that use the buses regularly.

 4. If a group wishes to join part way through the year please discuss with the office as we will either reduce the membership fee or if possible change the 12 month period so that a group still received 12 months membership.
