Voluntary Car Scheme

Our volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to transport local people who are unable to access public services, taking them to doctor's or dental appointments or to visit friends or relatives in hospital.

A mileage fee is charged to cover the driver's expenses and this is paid directly to the volunteer. Registered Ring & Ride users can book this service by calling the office on 01454 228706.  Please give us as much notice as possible. Wherever possible, we ask for a month's notice, we understand this isn't always possible but it helps us to have time to speak to all of our volunteers.

We also have two accessible cars that we can use to transport wheelchairs and scooters, we use these to take people to hospital appointments too. The fares are slightly different for these as they are our own vehicles, the office will give you up to date charges.

An answer phone is available for enquiries and cancellations, however please note that we cannot action any booking requests left on our answer phone.
